~~A Message From Paul~~

  • A message from Paul Shapiro- Happy New Year!
I hope everyone enjoyed the holidays however you chose to celebrate. As we look forward to the New Year, I am amazed at the number of large industries moving into our area. This provides a huge opportunity for our Chapter and Safety Professionals throughout our region. One of the best things about our organization is that it gives Safety Professionals a group to discuss the challenges we all have or still face on a daily basis.
We are continually looking for topics that are important to our members and provide value to the group at large. I am hoping to confirm timing and coordination for our next Chapter General Meeting, I have invited Nevada OSHA SCATS to come in and speak at our meeting. With all of the new developments and folks moving into our area I think that they provide a valuable resource at no charge. They can assist with understanding the Nevada OSHA regulations and provide training for your staff. This is a great resource if you are new to the area or even to those of us that have been around for a while.
We are also going to flood our members with requests to complete a simple survey. This survey is vital to us understanding what is important to you, our members. We really do need to understand how better to serve our members and how to keep you involved and engaged. The link to the survey is included at the bottom of this message. The link can also be found on our LinkedIn Page. Here is that link, www.linkedin.com/in/sierra-nevada-assp-162574248
if you don’t already follow us on LinkedIn, please join us!
I know that times are changing, and we have to adapt with those changes. We will plan to have our meetings accessible online or in person so if you cannot attend in person you can choose to participate online. However, we really want to know what is important to each of you.
Hopefully we will see more of you this year as we continue to work together to provide engaging topics, discussions, and value to your career. If you have any questions or if my team or I can provide any assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out.
    Thanks, and Happy New Year!
